Lake Superior Circle Tour

Lake Superior Circle Tour
Lake Superior is such a large lake that it shows different facets of it’s beauty to different people. It is rugged and hard in some areas, it has cobblestone beaches in other parts. There are some places where the spectacular waterfalls will astound you with their beauty and in other areas there are quiet rivers flowing serenely into the lake. If you stood at the shoreline at Duluth in Minnesota and watched the roaring waves hit the shoreline, you will forget that right behind you there is a large city.

The best way to truly experience the majesty of Lake Superior is by driving around the Lake Superior Circle Tour. The highway around this lovely lake is about 1300 miles long and it traverses vistas which are as varied as they are beautiful.

This Circle Tour will take you through three American States – Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan and also through Canada’s province Ontario. You can also travel around the lake by boat and ferry. It has been divided into five travel regions, each distinct in it’s characteristics and ambience. Take your time to go through all of them, take a few days or a few years, you will always want to keep coming back for more.

Among the many attractions of this place we have native arts and cultural activities, camping sites and parks, walking trails, snowmobile trails and ice-climbing cliffs. The Circle Tour has something for everyone and you can be as busy or as relaxed as you want.

Everyone has their favourite season on when to travel around Lake Superior, but she is at her prettiest during the Fall. The fall colours of russet, red and orange and brown are present in their full glory and the air is clean and fresh.

Lake Superior is not only a unique place, but it is also amazingly beautiful and serene in places, and stunningly wild in others.
